As many will already know a day of ringing in central London has been planned to mark the 200th anniversary of the battle of Waterloo. Research has revealed some interesting history about the connections between the Duke of Wellington and Angela Burdett-Coutts who gave the church and bells of St Stephen's. The local ringers will also be attempting a Quarter peal of Waterloo Surprise minor at St Stephen's on 18th June – the exact 200th anniversary.
